The Vigil for Migrant Deaths was organized by RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services), an immigrant advocacy group in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The vigil was organized to mourn migrants who died or were injured in a failed human smuggling effort, when the migrants were left in an unventilated tractor-trailer without water. The truck was discovered in a Walmart parking lot on the morning of July 23, 2017. The vigil was held later that day.
