Repetitions of Violence: the case of Ms Duncan


Three years after the death in custody of Ms Dhu, and despite the widespread outrage that followed, Ms Duncan was detained by police in Fremantle on New Years Eve. She was taken into custody after an altercation in which her daughter was stopped for a breath test. Ms Duncan was kneed in the glute by police and sustained a dislocated hip, but was disbelieved and mocked by officers when she said she could not walk.
